Three teams of Everton and Everton Women players compete for a £5,000 donation to a charitable program of their choosing.
The Angry Birds’ 10th anniversary was all about bringing the anger – channeling anger and using it for a good cause. Everton stars Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Jonas Lossl, teamed up with Everton Women players Chloe Kelly, Inessa Kaagman and Simone Magill to compete in an Angry Birds Bring the Anger Challenge to win a £5,000 donation to an Everton in the Community program of their choosing.
The players split off into three teams to compete in two events. First, a ‘Smash the Target’ challenge saw the Everton men testing their striking skills to hit numbered targets. Then, the Everton women took to the Angry Birds’ anger-powered scooter, the Rage Rider, to traverse an obstacle course.
Each team chose a program from the club’s official charity, Everton in the Community, to which they would award their winnings. The programs included:
- Home Is Where The Heart Is. Supporting young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Youth Zone. Educating young people on the importance of a healthy balanced diet and teaching how to prepare low-cost healthy meals on a budget.
- Pass on the Memories. Supporting people living with dementia and their carers.
