Senior Performance Marketing Manager

16.10.2023 User Acquisition Permanent Open position Apply here
At Rovio you will get to work with multiple groundbreaking IP’s including one of the most famous game IP’s in the world: Angry Birds! We craft joy with player-focused gaming experiences that last for decades. In order to do that, we know that people need to bring their own joy to what we do. That’s why we value work-life balance, say no to crunch culture, and welcome people from all walks of life to join the flock. Today, we are a proud team of 500+ caring and talented professionals representing over 50 different nations.

We trust our teams to work autonomously by providing them the right tools and level of responsibility. We believe in our teams to remain creative and to keep learning – as well as ensuring everyone has opportunities for personal growth.

The User Acquisition team helps our games to grow their user base by finding the most valuable target audiences. The craft relies heavily on data and changes rapidly; sometimes the learnings expire in a matter of months. This requires fast thinking, hunger to venture outside of your comfort zone and reading into the smallest of indicators in data. Close communication with multiple different teams is vital for us and makes the job interesting. Showing an ad in the right place at the right time to the right person sounds almost impossible, but the Performance Marketing team makes it possible.

Our team is growing and we are currently looking for motivated, collaborative and analytical Senior Performance Marketing Managers to join the team in the Helsinki metropolitan area. You will have the unique opportunity to join a special project team to market exciting SEGA games.
As the team is located in Helsinki and operates in a hybrid mode, we would prefer you to be here as well and can offer relocation assistance.

You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

  • Take ownership of defining the overall User Acquisition strategy for select new and existing games to maximise growth profitably
  • Campaign management/analysis, including monitoring and optimization of campaigns, budget allocation and conducting A/B tests
  • Owning the relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Steering the creative ideation process and strategy
  • Drive a relentless culture of experimentation on all key channels, while also ideating and establishing new user acquisition funnels for the game you are in charge of
  • Domain areas – approximately 70% of your time is dedicated to Performance Marketing activities for the game(s) you are in charge of and 30% is allocated for you to lead or support team-wide projects (e.g. programmatic, automation, creatives, etc).

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • User acquisition expertise in mobile games (preferably free-to-play) or mobile apps
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and optimise monthly multi-million dollar acquisition budgets with clear ROI targets
  • Experience with Performance Marketing creative process (e.g. setting creative strategy, briefing, providing feedback during production, steering creative production overall)
  • Analytical mindset and data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and teams
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • Deep understanding of mobile marketing AdTech: games measurement tools, attribution providers, programmatic advertising, fraud, etc.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Passion for mobile games

Interview process:

  • First meeting: You will meet the TA Partner to get acquainted and learn more about Rovio and the specifics of the role.
  • Call with a Hiring manager: We will dive deeper into your skills and background, and also discuss what motivates you.
  • Assignment: We’d like to learn more about your UA skills through relevant UA task. The task will take you a few hours.
  • Second meeting: You will meet the UA team and have the opportunity to present your task results.
  • Final meetings: You will meet the relevant stakeholders from other teams. Our aim is to get a clear overview of your skills, how you would fit with our working culture, your ambitions and where we can help you develop.
