Rovio’s Puzzle Studio has their sights set on becoming the most successful casual puzzle game studio in the world. Exploring new and emerging trends in puzzle games, the studio has built a deep understanding of the puzzle genre and its players since its founding in 2014. The studio has introduced innovations in puzzle game core with the free-flowing Angry Birds Dream Blast, several match 3 games as well as slingshot games. With their games, Puzzle Studio aims to create a true emotional connection that stays with players even when they’re not playing.
We are looking for a Game Lead to lead one of Rovio’s most successful games, Angry Birds Dream Blast. As a Game Lead you will be leading the vision and strategy of the game while ensuring the game has a high performance team. You are a business savvy leader obsessed with building products that scale and last for decades with a track record of growing and maintaining successful mobile live titles for years.
You will have impact and fun at work by doing:
- Define, set and drive the product vision and strategy for both short term and long term
- Own the roadmap based on the strategy by defining and agreeing on it with the key leads of the game
- Help to maintain a high performance game team
- Work with leadership to set project targets and long-term goals
- Be responsible for the product’s P&L.
Experience and skills we are looking for:
- Track record in leading and growing live mobile F2P games, puzzle games experience is a plus
- Experience lead a sizeable game team (50+)
- Solid knowledge of the live mobile F2P market and current trends
- Experience in people leadership: building, managing, and developing large teams
- Experience designing and leading mid- and long-term team vision successfully
- Clear understanding of UA and its impact
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and analytical mindset
- Strong understanding of the industry and where the puzzle genre is heading to.
Interview process:
- Initial Screening call: you will have a short introductory call with our Talent Acquisition partner. During this call we aim to understand your motivations, expectations and suitability for the role.
- First meeting: you’ll meet with the Senior Director of LiveOps and Hiring Manager for the role. We want to know who you are and what motivates you. This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about Rovio and the specifics of the role.
- Second meeting: you will meet with other Game Leads to have a detailed discussion about your experience, challenges you’ll face in your day to day.
- Third meeting: you’ll meet with the Production Director and a Product Craft Lead. This discussion will be more Product oriented. We would like to explore further your knowledge around the Product and it will be a good opportunity for you to ask questions about the game you’ll be working with.
- Fourth meeting: you’ll meet with the Head of Puzzle and the VP at Puzzle. Here we would like to discuss further about the challenges you’ll face in your day to day but also the long term vision of the game you’ll be working with.
- Fifth meeting: you’ll meet with the Head of Business HR. In this meeting you will meet the HR person you’ll be working with and discuss how you can support each other.
