The Angry Birds movies and Angry Birds animated series lead subscription video on demand (SVOD) services as the most popular content among US 4-16 year olds
Each year we conduct a range of brand studies and deep dives to get our claws into who is watching our Angry Birds animated content and what we can create in future to continue bringing the fun.
Over the summer we commissioned a report conducted by digital market research agency KidsKnowBest, with 4,000 kids and teenagers aged between 4-16 in the United States and United Kingdom being asked about their favorite content on streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime and more.
When the results came in, it’s fair to say even a grumpy avian like Red would crack a smile. In the US alone, the report showed that in US households with access to SVOD services, the Angry Birds animated series and the first Angry Birds Movie are the most-watched shows and movie among 4-16 year olds!
Meanwhile, in the UK, Angry Birds animated series accounts for some of the most-watched content with ages 4 and up, with a top 10 placement in all age groups (#9 for ages 4-7; #5 for ages 8-11; and #7 for ages 12-16).
Other fun tidbits: 63% of 4-16 year olds in the UK and 56% of 4-16 year olds in the US watch the Angry Birds animated series at least once or a few times a week (with 45% of kids aged 4-7 and 52% of kids aged 8-11 watching every day in the US!).
A couple broader takeaways from the survey show how the overwhelming majority of parents count the availability of content for children and families as important to their continued use of SVOD services. For a rundown of US and UK SVOD service usage, here’s an excerpt from the study below.
